Identified - Microsoft is discontinuing the M365 A1 Plus license, and some users are being transitioned from the M365 A1 "Plus" license to the M365 A1 license. This results in a loss of access to the desktop version of Office 365 applications, but all users should still be able to use the web-based apps at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ (requires UA login).
This change affects Crafts & Trades staff, Adjunct/Temporary Faculty, and Emeritus Faculty members. If you're not a member of these groups and are experiencing issues with the Microsoft Office suite, please reach out to your campus's IT helpdesk!
Due to the longstanding nature of this change and resulting disruption, we will be updating this status only as new information becomes available. This change will enable the following tools in Kaltura Application Framework (KAF) LTI for LMS PROD instances (KPC and UAA Blackboard, UAF Canvas).
Kaltura REACH - provides “machine caption and enrich services” on media
Media Stitching - allows multiple media entries (up to five) to be combined into one.
These tools are currently only available to users through Kaltura MediaSpace portals. This will help give parity of tools between Kaltura Media Space, and Kaltura LTI for LMS.

Currently Canvas data (courses, enrollments of student and faculty, and people) are imported through a python script that recurs on the hour through a cron job after being manually kicked off on a PAWS server.
EAS has been working with NTS SE to shift from this legacy process to the Ellucian product ILP (integrated learning platform) that automatically bulk imports course, enrollment, and people data from Banner into Canvas and then supports realtime change synchronization.
This is a change over to ILP for Fall 2026 course provisioning in Canvas.

We are performing a scheduled security update to our file storage system (NetApp). For the vast majority of users, this change will be completely invisible and will not affect your daily work.
In the past, the system allowed users to jump directly to a specific subfolder even if they didn't have permission to see the "parent" folders above it. Moving forward, the system will require you to have permission for the entire path leading to your file.
Potential Impact: If you have a bookmark or shortcut to a deep folder, it may stop working if you don't have "Read" access to the folders higher up in that directory. You might see an "Access Denied" message when trying to use a direct file path, even if you previously had access to that specific file.
If you find you can no longer access a folder or file you previously used, please contact The NTS Service Desk. We can work to verify your permissions within your department and ensure you have the necessary access to the full folder path.

This change will set up Scoped API Developer Keys for PROD Canvas. Scoped API keys are required for proper authentication to pass between the LMS and Kaltura, when the LMS uses a vanity URL. Changes will need to be made in both the LMS and Kaltura. The lack of Scoped API keys for Canvas had caused all users to receive “Failed to Authenticate” error messages, when attempting to use Kaltura My Media tool, so the tool had been removed. Once the scoped keys are in place, global tool placements for Kaltura My Media will be made available again, following the end of Spring Semester.
